Only A Few Days Left!

Admissions says they will MAIL notices between 3.15 and 4.15 - so nobody will find out tomorrow....maybe those in western PA area will get their notices on 3.16. Decisions will be put online 3 days AFTER mailing. The only people who may hear tomorrow are athletes being recruited and the coaches happens to call them tomorrow with good news...but most of those people have probably already heard by now.

The admin rep who spoke to us at the end of Jan. at my D's portfolio review said that CFA was targeting 3.17 for notices...that date may have been pushed back even more by now. I take that to mean that the different colleges within the University may mail their acceptances at different times??

I just asked one of CMU's reps. He said they're mailing next monday.

Does anybody know whether a financial aid award will be announced in the acceptance letter, or if it will be mailed later under separate cover?

Did anyone else get a poster-y thing from CMU titled "From the Cut"? Do you think it's some sort of hint? (I hope so...)

what is it?!
I didn't get it!
Damn living in Canada!

I wouldn't worry about it; it looks like a typical informational thing. Probably doesn't mean anything regarding admissions.

sabertoothtiger- I got that brochure thing from CMUtoo!! It says it's the admission newsletter for Spring 2005. So you really think it means something??? I'm trying not to get my hopes up and it's probablu not but it's just so close to decision time! I'm sorta wiggin out from all the tension!!!

It has nothing to do with your acceptance. My friend got it and didnt even apply.

Was wondering if anyone out there applied to the BFA directing program @ CMU? I did...anyone else?

ugh CMU still hasn't received all my finaid forms and it's been a week. for those of you who check the "where am i in the process", generally, how long did it take for cmu to check off your finaid forms after you sent them?

At least a week. Be patient and don't worry.

2 weeks..... I mailed them from India..... I didnt expect them to be that fast.....

CMU showed our paper copy of the FAFSA received early Feb...our IRS docs received nearly 2 weeks later - and they were mailed in the same envelope! I think they enter ALL applicants' paper FAFSAs (as an exampe); then they go back and enter ALL of another type of form, and on from there...official FAFSA info was not received until end of Feb., then entered as received just a few days ago.

okay thanks!

I emailed them when they still didn't have our FAFSA up after several weeks. Got a reply that they were doing them in a batch shortly and it was up in a couple of days. I'd agree there's probably a disconnect between they get and sometimes use stuff and when it's posted to the website.

This is their crunch time. I imagine there is a huge amount of paper and computer files to collate and update.

For the last three years dealing with CMU's FinAid, "THE HUB", we've never had the paperwork go smoothly. This year we had to fax the tax forms twice, and eventually had the kid hand deliver the tax form and signature verification page; at which time they said that they already received the documents. Growl! We still didn't get the unsubsidized Stafford until Jan 2005; and I started his returning student application papers in August.

They're cool about it, You stay cool too,
Good Luck.

I just checked and they have everything now. Just in time too, decisions mailed monday. Just 3 days guys!

I'm assuming the newsletter didn't mean anything because it has info about summer stuff for rising juniors and seniors which obviously wouldn't be applicable to seniors that applied.
