Unfortunately, we poor souls can't choose or drop our own courses, so I've taken History for three whole years.

It was the worst.

Unfortunately, we poor souls can't choose or drop our own courses, so I've taken History for three whole years.

It was the worst.

poor you paradox! 3 years!

lol to clarify,(surprise!) I am a she!
lol my mum bought me a big gigantic geography thing book.. the one with closeups of countries and some information on countries and stuff. AND, we also have that globe thingee that spins around. Except I was bored and I kinda peeled off some parts of that globe when I was little (yes, it was a cheap globe).
I used the geography book thing for homework for social studies and stuff - quite handy!
And yes, I am a scientific person. Not to keen wit Biology though. Love Chemistry. Ok with Physics. Like Maths. English is.. ok - just really really boring (it's a core subject from year9-12 but I would still have to take it in year 13 ugh!)

ok I have a question. I asked this b4 on CC but I don't think I got a clear answer.

OK, so, my school years go from year 9-13 - January to November.
I'm born in 1988.
Am I supposed to apply to schools at the end of year 13, December?? (so I would be attending a college in september, after I graduate from highschool)
Or end of year12 December??
When's 1988 people applying to schools?

Most American applicants are 1987s but a good percentage are 1988s(the accelerated or something ones). I myself am a Dragon.

I'm1986s then, pretty old around here rite :D

I'm 88, too. Went to school earlier. Hey Duncanctc, you're old! :D not oldest, though. The other VNese is 85. I wonder why he hasn't answered my pm !?

NoFX: where in NZ are you? i got friends in Auckland and Foxton... (is that the name? it's near wellington, 3 miles from the shore)

in my country only '86-ers go to university. '88 would still be in high school. =)

I was supposed to be in Imperial College ( I thought i mentioned it some where in this forum) but I'm taking a gap year and apply to American Universities. That's why I'm abit older than you guys. Er, ngohuongly, i wonder, did you skip any class (kinda genius)? did you go to primary one year earlier?

duncanctc:

you're kinda like me then, i'm born '86 december. but i'm in the UK right now starting a course for a year (so its sorta like a gap year) but i'm applying as a freshman for fall 2005 in the states anyways.

i think next year in the US (if i get accepted, hopefully) like the first time in my life being around younger people. i've always been the youngest (or one of the the youngest) guy in my class in every school i went to.

NoFX: punk rock chicks rule!!!!!!

my parents never wanted me to go to skool or sumthin, so they never sent me to kindergarten.. i joined grade 1 straigh.. n altho i skipped a class (grade 11).. im EIGHTEEN and still in high skool grrrrrrrr......

hey fats, where are you from then??
I used to be in London, but no longer already. Now I'm in my home country which is Vietnam.
Er, hahaha, I have been in the same situation, always the youngest :D :D. So probably,if getting into the states Unis :D I have to be around with younger also. Humm, does it a problem ? Nah, I dun think so. Girls may like a mature man :D :D

I'm going to be 19 next few months, actually in Feb... Darn... so fast :(

god - y'all make me feel like a baby around here... i hope there are some girls who like younger men.
also, in the US - legal drinkin age is 21!!! can u guys believe tht sht - they might as well send me to a freakin school in middle of sahara....

haha duncan....

i'm in glasgow

duncanctc, I went to primary at 5. I'm not genius enough to skip class :P And I think it's no longer allowed. So what are you doing in Vietnam? Burying yourself in forms and essays?

mercury squad - i live in auckland! so maybbbbbeeeee i know your friends who live here.

2004 - year 11 ; 2005 - year 12 ; 2006 - year 13
am I to apply for fall of 2007? which would make me in class of 2011?

adides - omg, 21??!! But I dont think they will prosecute you for drinking at an earlier age. I don't know about U.S but (here), I got caught underage drinking at parties a couple of times but the police just warns me all the time.

and fats, i love punk!

Hahaha, same here in England, but in Vn you can drink at whatever age you want to :D :D (definitely illegal lor)
To fats: I went to glasgow last year for an interview at Glasgow Uni :D :D. But I just stayed over one night, so I didnt have chance to go around lor. But Scotland looks a bit drowsy rite :D
To ngphuongly: er, yeah..kinda fooling around with forms and essays, but I finished all them most likely. Er, I'm working part-time at British council.:D
To NoFX: you'r kinda the youngest here then... what does it mean year 13? I thought your country has the same educatuion system as England which is 1or 2 year O-level then 2 years for A-level or Foundation :D.... Probably I'm wrong then ...Bad

glasgow's really cool, everybody get drunk almost every day of the week, don't know if i can continue doing that in the US though.

but it's always cloudy, wet and grey all the time.

duncantc, yeah the system is/was kinda like that in some schools. But now, there's this new system (NCEA - New zealand thing) and that's like the official curriculum that's supposed to take place at all schools.
But even before NCEA, school years went from y9-13... so I dunno.

So is my theory right, about having to apply in fall 2007???

NoFX, in that case, I think you have to apply in late 2006 (to start college in fall 2007). US colleges/uni.s require us to finish high school at our home country. It's sad. you are so nice. But well, you will have more time with your grade, EC (you're improving, right?) and the tests.
duncanctc: working at BC? cool! I have only been there once (no aptitude for Britain :D). And you use a lot of :D
