many people are saying that the ti-89 tit cannot be used on some tests that i will be taking such as the sat, sat IIs, ap exams, math league contests, science league, etc. is this true? if it is, are the ti-84 one's allowed? what's the best one to buy if i want it to be the only calculator i'll ever need/use?

yes

yes

Probably the TI-84+ Silver Edition

The Texas Instruments website describes the TI-89.."It's the most powerful TI graphing calculator allowed for use on the AP* Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, PSAT/NMSQT**, SAT® I , SAT II, and Math IC & IIC exams. "

ti 89 titanium is awesome. i used it on all my SAT I&IIs, APs, etc. no problem with it. it's very useful for physics - it already has all the stuff programmed.

oh and the titanium has much nicer colors than the old normal one.

eww i have the old normal TI-89. Its black. and ugly. and i dont know how to use it. i've had it since like 7th grade (im a junior). soo if youre good at figuring calculators & stuff out then buy an 89 unless you're in IB cuz they don't allow 89's on the tests (i think). oh and the typing on the thread thing or whatever annoys me. rawr.

89 is the way to go.

1 reason to use the 89:

the SOLVE button.

sorry, just really bored.

only annoying people write like that. i'm sorry but you have way too much time on your hands if you type like that. read a book or something.

oh wow my AIM screen name is like that. so i shouldnt be talking.. so nevermind to everything that i said.

Hey, maybe he/she just has a palsy in a finger near the shift key.

what's been said is correct--89 is legit on all those SAT / AP tests, and can be used for more things than an 84.

Well I know I wouldn't be able to use it in any of my classes because my teachers forbid it.

well if you want to use it for school math , you should probably stick to a ti-83+ or and 84, because a lot of teachers dont let you use 89s because they do too much...but check with your teachers first
