Only for HS students?

Hello everyone,

Just a quick question...are all these combined med programs only open for students fresh more HS? ...do they even look at college students ready to transfer?

Please excuse me if this is a stupid question.

yeah for all or most of the programs u have to be a HS senior at the time of application

check individually for each program, I'd say 70% are only HS, another 20% are just specific to each college, meaning you have to be an undergrad and apply as a sophomore, and then there are a couple which allow transfers

i know that you can apply to stonybrook during your freshman year (and transfer as a sophomore)

at VCU, if you're in the regular college you can apply into the med program as a sophomore (maybe even a junior) also

drexel and some other colleges have early assurance programs fer when yer a sophomore in college...which will guarantee acceptance in to med school, provided that certain conditions are met

there's another thread on this (might be second page)
duquesne and miami of florida do this for sure (apply as sophmore in college)

william and mary has an early assurance program with EVMS

rutgers has a joint program with UMDNJ/ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON/NJmedical skool. it's only for rutgers students tho. Um u apply in your sophomore yr and um if u get accepted, u can CHOOSE to accelerate and get ur MD in 7 years.

i think it's neat =)

i think there are several other colleges that have programs like this. google is ur friend
