This should get you to photos of me atop Peak 9 at Breckenridge CO this week (13,195’), and atop Mt Belford (14, 197’ - we also did Mt Oxford on the same day, another 14er) with my trusty companion, “Doolie, the Wonder Lab.”

That should do it. (PS - no spam or private e-mails of other than a USAFA nature applicable to this board or risk being forever banned. Thanks!)

That day WILL come. I've climbed there some, just none of the 14ers. I'll keep you posted on plans. A recent mtn bike incident has curtailed my climbing plans somewhat--broke my left collarbone and 3 ribs 19 days ago going over the handlebars. (notice black cloud over my head in photo 1)Good excuse for a new bike with full suspension, I think. Still, I was able to carry a light backpack this past weekend and on 5 3+ hour hikes, so the recovery's going well. Remember the docfrance motto: anything worth doing is worth doing to excess!

Awesome view in your pictures Doc - the only Mt we have here in FL are ones like space mountain and splash mountain. When we drove up Pikes Peak in April I found out I have a great fear of heights with no guard rails - I have never been more terrified. But once we got to the top it was incredible what a beautiful state you live in. My son's big thrill in Jacks Valley this week was having to run up a hill turning about face and doing push-ups -he loves the challenges of elevation.

He seems to like it. We picked him up from the breeder (along the Chesapeake, in Kings County VA) the week after we dropped our doolie off at USAFA for BCT. He's climbed three 14ers (Belford, Oxford, and Bierstadt) and carries his own backpack filled will water and treats. 92 pounds of pack dog.

I see I see! My computer at work runs windows. Guess I couldn't open it at home with crappy Linux. BAH. Thanks for posting the pix Doc! The view was un-real! I'd hiked Chimney Rock and Pinnacle Mt. in NC and thought I'd die both trips. My ankles wobbled and actually began to ache when I saw the rocks you'd hiked on. WOW! Put my little bitty hill climb to shame. Your dog is one big toughie. He probably lives to go with you. Bet you have to keep his pack hid till its time to go. Next time, let Doolie ride the bike........

Doolie is thrilled with the response and appreciates his new fan club. I've helped him post a few of his favorites to the site, so you can check it out again for the new ones...
