Only one recommendation??

If it says only one teacher rec is REQUIRED, can we send more than one and how will that be viewed?

Thanks!!

BTW, are there UVA interviews?

This is exactly what I asked in my topic "Recommendations," but I still haven't received an answer.

Teachable moment time.

The reason people might not be answering the question is that the answer is in the instructions of the paper application on and the recommendation page of the online one. On top of that, there's a email address and phone number on the application that can be used when instructions are unclear.

Thank you.

I found the bit on the paper application to be a bit unclear:

[quote]
Recommendations:
You must submit a recommendation
from your school; usually a guidance
counselor writes this recommendation
and includes it with the School and
Transcript Report (Part 3).We do not
provide a separate recommendation
form.
We also encourage you to submit
an additional recommendation.
Recommendations must be submitted
either with the School and Transcript
Report or with the Supplement for
First-Year Applicants.We cannot
guarantee that recommendations submitted
in another manner will be filed
before we evaluate your application.

Obviously, this means UVa would like at least one from a counselor and also would prefer one more from a teacher. However, would they accept two additional recommendations (making it 1 from a counselor, and 2 from two teachers)? Or would they just overlook the second teacher rec?

Exactly my question as well. Whereas sending them an email may not only take to long to receive a reply but also because I do not trust those assistants working part time.
