What happened to McGill and Carleton?

I’m still interested in them but I visited and UVa is my no. 1 choice. I’m a little unnerved because the rep said that the OOS admissions rate is about 20%.

If you lived in VA you’d be in for sure, but I think you still have a great chance, I’m gonna say high match. Great ACT! Good luck! :)

Thanks. Anyone else?

If it makes any difference my SAT is 800 CR, 710 M, 670 R so 1510/1800 and 2170/2400.

Honestly, you have excellent chances. I would say a mid to low match. If I were you, I would apply to the low ivies, like Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, or maybe even Penn. You have great stats and great EC’s. Congrats in advance.

you have a great chance at UVA, but so do many others with your stats =/ stand out with your essay!!!

I’d say you look really awesome! Nail the essay and you’d be in! I would love to have your GPA :D

Hi I just got into UVA, and our stats are very similar, so I think UVA is a good match for you!
That being said, UVA is really picky about what it wants in a student, so having good SAT’s and grades will be helped by a unique set of extracurriculars (being in a robotics program helped me for example), and a strong essay. You should definitely focus on what you enjoy, and take the time to write about that in your application.

However, being out of state hurts a little bit, I am a VA native and at my school, UVA took around 20 students. At the local superschool, UVA is known to accept 200+ people a year.

Good Luck!
