I uploaded my grades online and never received a request for a mid-year report. Our transcripts only became available March 6th if that makes if any better :/ Is it worth sending it at this point? I'm pretty sure I'm already rejected because I haven't received ANYTHING from financial aid and my parents are divorced.

Thanks!

Do you mean you uploaded your midyear grades online? I wouldn’t worry about sending the transcript if you did that. They will confirm upon enrollment.

This same thing happened to me, except for another school. I did not receive any emails about items missing from my application, and didn’t check the status of my app online until yesterday because I had gotten an email saying my app was in and assumed everything was fine. My app track says the school has all materials necessary for review of my app but then at the bottom says my midyear report is missing. Does this mean that they decided to reject me, so they didn’t even bother to try to get missing materials?! I don’t know if I should just get my guidance counselor to resend the report or what…

@higher…i would either call admissions and ask or have your GC just fax a copy over. My instinct is that most decisions have been made. A quick call will fix your stress. If you have a specific admissions person, contact them.

Okay, so I just contacted the admissions office and their exact words were “if we were missing any information necessary for review of your application we would have notified you.” I know for a fact that no midyear report was sent in to this school, and when I highlighted this fact, the guy just repeated the previous sentence. This so does not bode well.

@higheredaspirer maybe it’s the opposite of that… Could it be they planned to accept you regardless of your midyear grades?

I have also heard from a student that contacted another college about mid-years that the admissions office didn’t even have time to look at them - they just shredded them. I would relax.

I don’t think you should worry.
About three weeks ago, I called admissions because my mid-year report tab would not work. And the person said that they are optional. (unless you were notified to upload them)
Good luck!:)

@Renomamma: I sincerely hope that’s the case! Otherwise…Ugh I don’t even know how I’m going to deal with rejections yet.

I didn’t get a request for mid year grades either. At my school all the straight A kids who applied USC got a letter requesting the grades. I am not hopeful. But I guess it is possible they accept some without the mid year report, maybe just not at my school. Bleh already rejected from USCD too.

well that sounds very encouraging! haha
I still hope the best of luck to you and everyone else:)

I know some of the vetertans here frequently repeat that “everyone” will be asked for mid-years, and that the vast majority seem to be, but TECHNICALLY USC’s wording is something like “sometimes USC will ask for…” and then “you may upload your mid year report here”, as if you always have the option to volunteer them. But unless you are asked specifically, nowhere does it say online that mid years are “required.”

Anyway, unlike his friends, my son was never asked for mid years. He was accepted and is now a sophomore at USC.
