OMG! What can I do now? I was curious and I opened it,now WHAT?

WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT???

That breaks the confidentiality and it's a sign of...being unable to control yourself!

Did they sign their signature over the seal? Or the school stamp?

Ask for another one. Make up a **** and bull story. Like...you dropped it in a puddle or something and it tore because it was completely soaked or something...

Gosh! No offense, but that was SUCH an idiotic thing to do!!

The flap is torn right now.Yes, she did signed on the flap.I'm thnking of sending my letter without the envelope because her signature and the school seal are on the letter. Will that look odd?The university's website didn't mention that applicants must send their lettter o recommendation in a sealed envelope.............

This might seem heartless(believen you me I empathize with you, this kind of stuff happens to me all the time) but what size envelope did you enclose the rec in?

I suppose the best thing to do would be to go to the teacher and say you misplaced the original.

gwad...you just unleashed the pandora box. go make up a bull story like izzy said. be convincing. PLEASE DON't SAY MY DOG ATE MY REC LETTER.

"My parents opened it; they didn't know they weren't supposed to."

Pandora box? EXACTLY!

Yeah, just be convincing. The puddle would work. But don't say it if it has been sunny/hot in your country for a week. And next time don't open it!

I f you say the truth, then the teacher will probably write a ad rec the 2nd time.

This may sound ignorant but where on the app does it state that the letter has to be signed at the flap and that students can't read it...
Well... my teacher let me read the recommendation he wrote for me.

you can read the letter, but a sealed flap indicates confidence of you in the teacher. colleges look at that mroe weightiyl.

it's like, there's no official law that says you can't read the letter or that the letter must be sealed. it's just that no one would want to send in an unsealed rec. becomes a trivial letter, its importance diminished.

eh i would just send it in with your apps without an envelope. Or I'd just put it in a normal envelope. If your college asks questions, just be like, "huh? official school envelope? we don't have those kinda things.. our school's poor"

dont worry, my teacher gave me the actual reccomendation and told me to make as many copies as you want and send it away, i guess he didnt want to do all the copying work, envelope sealing, etc..
just send it in a normal envelope, no college will care

go tell your teacher you lost your recommendation and request her VERY nicely to write you another one shrugs.

Or just ask another teacher and pretend everything's fine

I'm sorry but I'm curious too...What did the recommendation say? Was it good? For which university? I hope you'll get in!
Just ask for another one, I'm sure she'll give it to you. All the best!

Going back to tell her the truth, that will be very awkward!!I'm afraid that she might send another recommendation to the university mentioning that I opened the sealed envelope!!!OMG!

She gaved me a very good recommendation....and a good forecast grades for my Cambridge A-Level (external examination). Oh,I am very regretful right now....

still u r very dumb to open the letter.

which college did you go to?
