Oops!

I did something stupid with my MIT application and I don't what to do. I am applying online and my mom accidentally submitted part one of my application (I don't let my parents fill out my stuff or anything like that. I just needed her credit card number to pay because my guidance counselor still doesn't know where the fee waivers are.) but I didn't finish filling out a couple things. I never filled out the 2 boxes that asked me whether both my parents are living or not. Does anyone know what I should do besides cry over how idiotic I am to have let my mother touch the computer? Should I add it part 2 in the optional section that allows you say anything you want. Should send something in the mail with my transcript letting them know that I screwed up? If anyone has any idea what I should do that'd be great. thanks.

Hey, you know, maybe not having filled out those 2 questions will add mystery to application...hahaha.

you should call the admissions office and tell them what happened. i don't think this would hurt you but you should play it safe and ask. don't worry it's not that bad!

I would also either call the admissions office, or else write a letter with your name and birthdate answering the questions -- you can send it to Undergraduate Admissions, 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Room 3-108, Cambridge, MA 02139. Either way, the information will get into your file.

It won't be a problem at all -- don't worry about it in the least.

thanks guys! i'm gonna call tomorrow and i think i'll send a note in with my transcript. i feel so much better.
