I've forgotten to put two pieces of information on my app(one of which is a 2nd hook) and have two new things I'd really want to add... should I call commonapp up or do I have to call each school individually? Or would email be better?

Call each school individually so you can get a direct answer right away.

Same thing happened to me at the beginning of the New Year’s–accidentally sent a wrong version of the Common App to one of my colleges. The people that I talked to at the admissions office were very understanding. They had me mail in a revised copy with my name, birthdate, etc.

However, you may run into some trouble if they have already begun reviewing your application. Best thing to do would be to call right away.

By reviewing, do you mean having made a decision? I’ve sent in most of my apps quite a while ago…

“Reviewing” means they’ve gone over your application. They may or may not have made a decision. If they have, they might re-evaluate it with the new information you’ve given them.

Well, most colleges begin reviewing soon after your entire application is complete (app, transcripts, etc). I am not sure whether they would have already made a decision though. There may be some prelimenary sorting that happens early on. Call colleges and ask how you should handle the situation. A typed letter of whatever you want to add along with a cover letter asking admissions office to add it to your file should be fine. Mail it with priority mail, express mail, anything! (:
