Oops!

I was admitted to the University of Pennsylvania early decision, and I was working very hard in most of my classes. But, I just didn’t find the AP Environmental Science course that I was taking intellectually stimulating enough to continue to do the work necessary to maintain my previous performance (I go to a very rigorous prep school). Apparently, because of one test that I blew off entirely (I actually got an F on it) and a huge project that the teacher gave me a C on, I am ending up with a D for the semester. All five of the classes that I am in currently are AP’s and in the courses I am taking I didn’t get anything lower than a B. What are the chances of my admission offer being revoked? I love Penn, but should I start having to think about considering other schools? It is only one grade in one class the second semester of my senior year, but does anyone know anyone who has been in a similiar situation? What am I to do? Is this something I should seriously worry about?

how about contact them immediately and explain the situation. This is b/c they go "hunting" for the kids with D(s) on their senior transcripts.

A D isn't good, but it's not the end of the world. You're probably okay, as long as your other grades are fine. Also, in the worst case scenario that admissions don't find it okay, they always let you explain your situation to them first before they actually do anything.
