OOS Acceptances thread.

Hey,

I was wondering if we could start an OOS accepted thread. The only reason I ask OOS is becasue when I look at the "official" thread, its hard to tell whether or not the person is from CA, which makes it easier for them to get in. So is anyone willing to post their stats in these categories please:

I got in and I'm from Illinois, northwest suburbs of Chicago.

I'd fill out all my info but I'm too lazy to right now - maybe later. Congrats to all.

What part? Adlai E Stevenson; I know that school is creditable as one of the best public schools in the state of Illinois.

Anyone from Maryland?

:)

Stevenson is a GREAT high school, but I live further north in Cary, so I go to Cary-Grove. Another good school, just not as big/competitive.

everyone including myself was deneid from berkeley and ucla

UC GPA:
SAT/ACT: 2010/28

School Type: competetive private HS; class of 178

Ethnicity: caucasian

Gender: female

major strength/weakness: SAT score overall- good, but not UCLA good. I'm still in shock that it didn't get me rejected outright.

why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: I have no idea- this was the biggest surprise of my life thus far!

I'm from South Florida. Another girl I know with better SAT scores and similar EC's from around here also got in.

UC GPA: Hmm...doesn't quite fit. I'm attending a British curriculum school..but
GCSE's Straight A*s/As, A/s As, but my report grades fluctuate between As and Cs =s But under yeah...British system so not quite convertable.
SAT/ACT: 800CR/740M/650W 1540/2190
SAT 2s: Litarture 780/Bio E 720

College Applied to: L&S I think, just the normal arts and sciences
Subjective:

Essays: Haha Writing's my favourite hobby =P So yep I'm familiar with brushing up the mediocre to sound amazing.

Teacher Recs: On and Off...one of my teachers really likes me and has taught me for agesss, other one not so sure...none of my other teachers have taught me more than a year =S so not much choice.

Counselor Rec: Standard? I find it hard to write about these since I've never read them.

Location/Person:

School Type: Competitive private HS; Class of 40, only 10 applied to the US...I think 4 of them got into ivies so far, maybe 5 =( I feel rejected lol...

Gender: Male

major strength/weakness: Sat M/CR gd...but not that great overall. I have no idea....

why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: Unique name =D It begins with a Q =P

Other Factors: I'm from Hong Kong? So maybe more diversity?

Sarah Brooke,

Funny. I know another "Sarah" from South Florida who got in, but she had higher SAT's, but she was into journalism and drama as well.

Do you go to North Broward, Cardinal Gibbons, Westminster, or Pine Crest Fort Lauderdale Campus by any chance?

Me and a couple other classmates all applied to UCLA, and the other two to Berkeley, and we all got denied. Seems UCLA only admits applicants from private schools in the South Florida region.

Wait,

I didn't think UCLA allows teach recs or counselor recs.

"* Ethnicity: Chinese (but I suck at maths, sciences and can hardly read chinese...does that make me special?)"

definitely :)

justkiddinggg
