OOS applicant and Junior year musts

My child is very interested in UT. What does she need to do this year to help her chances of admittance?

Current GPA is 3.30/4.0--school is very competitive. Her course load includes honors and AP classes every year.

Hasn't taken the ACT or SAT yet

Community service--has about 200 hours of community service so far (average about 80-100 hours per year)

Extracurricular activities--club sport (about 15-20 hour commitment per week), yearbook staff

High school sport

What are her chances of acceptance and what should she be doing this year? Thanks for your input and advice in advance.

unfortunately ut cares alot about gpa/class rank. I know a few seniors my from high school (instate) who were 8-10% with 2100s sat and great extracurriculars and got caped. A high sat scores 2200+ can help offset a 3.30. the oos acceptance rate is 36%. has she attended any summer programs, any awards, anything that stands out? what school is she applying to in ut? The business and engineering schools are very competitive especially for oos.

She has not attended any summer programs, and quite honestly, I don’t really know where to begin looking for any. I would appreciate any advice you have on summer, spring break or winter break programs. She will be attending a national conference as part of the yearbook staff this school year, and she was named to the Conference All Academic Team.

I have always believed that what makes her stand out is that she is well-rounded (good grades, difficult course load, sports, community involvement with a lot of volunteer hours). She also has demonstrated a lot of commitment and organization in handling the number of hours and practice schedule along with school. She practices at 5 am before school as well as in the evenings.

Her first choice school is the Liberal Arts school and in looking at the average GPA and test scores, it appears it is one of the lower schools on campus. She hasn’t taken the ACT or SAT yet so I can’t compare where she may be with those yet.
