OOS applicant - chance me??

I'm an OOS applicant from Nevada. I'm also wondering how much the personal statement counts as part of the application process (I couldn't think about what to write, the essay kind of sucks in my opinion. Other people have given me mixed reviews >____<")

Personal statement:
Talked about the first time I visited the library at seven years old and how I've loved reading ever since. Reading made me eager to learn, books taught me so much, kept asking questions about everything because of it

only thing that really matters is your SAT, GPA, and class rank. You should be accepted.

I agree. You look good for University Park.

Penn State doesn’t really look at personal statements. I know this since I wrote absolutely bizarre statement, but I somehow managed to get into the main campus.

I’m also Korean male student! If you want to find out korean culture in Penn State, I’m more than happy to answer any questions. Just shoot me a PM and I’ll try to get to you as soon as possible!

thanx dpsu2012! i’ll definitely message you soon :)

i’ve been kind of worried about the lack of asians at penn state. since i’m from the west, i’m used to being with asians ^_^"

Chococat, you will find no shortage of asians at up, I feel as though the stats lie, there are THOUSANDS of them here, you’ll be in good company

really? lol

my top two school choices right now are penn state and university of washington. i was kind of hesitant to consider penn state because on the college board website it said that only 5% of the student population was asian lol

nice to know that there are more of my kind up east  lol
