OOS chance?

<p>Hi I just visited UVA recently and really like the campus, academic offerings, and overall atmosphere of the university. I'm from out of state, and the officer speaking emphasized the difficulty of out of state admissions, so i figured i would see if i stand a good chance of gaining admission. </p>

<p>Background:
I'm a male from PA, probably can tell from the username already. I'm a rising senior and will be graduating this year. I come from a public school that sends 5-10 students to top ivies and LACs yearly.</p>

<p>Here are my stats:</p>

<p>GPA- Weighted- 4.82, Unweighted around the 3.8-4.0 zone not sure though. All A's.
Class rank: 6/383 top 2%</p>

<p>AP's- not many offered until junior/senior yr. Only have taken English Comp and USH.
Will take Gov/Ec, Calc BC, Bio, Span, and English Lit this coming year.</p>

<p>AP Tests- 5's on English Comp and USH
SAT: 2120 comp. 700-CR, 710 Math, 710 Writing.
SAT II: 780 Math II, 770 USH
ACT: 31- likely won't submit not sure yet though.</p>

<p>EC's:
-Student Council President this coming yr.
-DECA for 3 years (Officer this yr and next)
-FBLA officer this yr and next
-Interact 3 yrs. either vp or president next year
-Young Democrats club co-president
-Baseball 4 yrs. Varsity this coming yr.
-1 year basketball
-Catholic Leadership Experience with my church
-Participant in Chester County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program
-Amnesty International Club member
-NHS 11th and 12th grades
-Knights in Community Service Club 4 yrs (did a lot of work planning our school's first community fair, now will be an annual event)</p>

<p>Volunteering:</p>

<p>Between 50 and 100 hours on projects with Habitat for Humanity, Breastcancer.org (helping with plan and run events that are fundraisers), Dragonfly Summer Camp and other groups our KICS club supports, projects with Catholic Leadership Exp.</p>

<p>Awards-</p>

Rotary Student of the Month-11
DECA Finalist at State Level, competed at Nationals twice
Nominated for National Youth Leadership Forum (2 people at my school get this)</p>

<p>I think grades and scores are definitely in range, and I think your EC’s are good. If your essays reflect any of your 5 on the AP Eng. Comp exam and your recommendations are solid, I think you have a decent chance.</p>

<p>I think you are looking good Phillymo. Great class rank!! Definitely competitive on many levels; you’ve got some solid EC’s too. Wow, Chester County. I have some family in Philly and we have to travel through Chester County every time we visit. Nice area, very northern and Philly from my perspective>>I mean that in a good way :-), I’m kind of a country gal from the South.
