Hi there

I live in California but I am interested in attending Rutgers and majoring in sports management. I have 4.2 GPA and 30 ACT score. What are my chances for admission and out of state scholarships? I played varsity baseball 4 years, tons of EC's and community service. My dad went to Rutgers...not sure if that helps me at all.

You’ll get in (easily) but unless you’re d-1 good at baseball you’re not going to get much money. Maybe the 2500 one

What stats do you need to get higher scholarship?

To get a full ride, you need between 2250-2400 on SAT which i think is equivalent of 35/36 on ACT and top 10% of you class i believe its called a presidental scholarship. I knew a person who had it and had a 2380 on his SAT, ranked 2 in his class and 4.3 GPA.

However, you might get some scholarships but no full ride. The essay in the application plays a role in the scholarship process.

Thanks for the information. When I go on the Rutgers cost estimator it says that I will receive the Carr scholarship for $10,000 but I am not sure if this is correct

You’ll definitely get accepted. You and I have very similar statistics (yours are a tiny bit better than mine) and I got the Carr Scholarship. I am out of state as well. Also, as somebody above me said, the essay is wicked important. I’m pretty sure that’s a huge part of what the Carr Scholarship is based off of, so put as much work into that as you can! Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Priority applications for Fall 2013 are due Nov 1st. Is there any benefit to apply ASAP or should I wait for my Sept ACT scores?

you can apply and most likely will be accepted and on the application put the option that u are retaking ACT
