i had a cousin that attended and graduated from umd (don't know how much weight that holds)

getting in to umd would be a dream come true. feedback would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

You’ll really need to stand out since you’re an OOS applicant. I suggest retaking the SAT in October so your M+CR score is at least 1300.

Make sure you write a good essay!

thanks for replying. i’m most likely not taking the SAT again since i already took it 3 times. i don’t think i’m going to improve anymore from my current score.

can anyone else chance me? thanks

NJ and NY have the highest # of OOS applicants to UMD; it takes higher #'s to get in from either of those states. You’ve got a chance, but I don’t think you’ll be in the running for any merit aid.

thanks for the reply! as for the merit aid, i wasn’t expecting any in the first place so it doesn’t bother me that much.

can anyone else chance me?

How competitive is your high school? Do you use navience? How many get accepted to UM with your grades and SAT scores? Which school do you plan on applying (Business engineering…) ? Why don’t you take the ACT??? If your score is in the 30’s then don’t submit your SAT’s.

my high school is kind of competitive. my high school doesn’t use naviance.
i plan on applying to the college of computer, math, and natural sciences (cmns) for computer science.
