What type of SATs scores do out of staters have (NJ in particular), assuming they have a good gpa 3.8ish and good ECs, good community service activities, good essays, and recs?

I know Cali students can get in with a 1900-2000...so I'm assuming an OOS'er would need at least a 2100 or so to get in (college of engineering).

Yeah for CoE, you'll need at least 2100+, better to have 2200+ SAT I, or a 33-36 on ACT. Also, you're going to need as close to 800 on SAT II: Math IIC and a Science SAT II as close to 800 as possible.

Some of the Specific Engineering Majors are severely capped. I know that Nuclear Engineering had a cap of 15 admits for Fall 2006 and I believe they don't put Nuclear Engineering rejects into the Undeclared Engineering Pool so that kind of stinks.

i don't have time to retake math 2c...unless i do so in january. would the low math 2c score hurt me significantly...if i do well on sat 1 math...and get a high 2100/low 2200?

Electical Engineering Comupter Science (EECS) is your intended major, so um... we don't accept Math 1C, and that Math 2C score is utter crap for any Engineering major, so that'll pretty much kill you since most EECS applicants are at 800 or close at 2C math. OOS makes it even more worse.

Sorry dude, EECS is one of the hardest majors to get into for Cal and you just don't cut it with that Math grade.

Haha. I'm certainly not mean. But you must have forgot the cardinal rule of CC posting, and that is to not hijack someone else's post. We've all done it, but that doesn't make it right.

I understand. I just had a bad day when I took it...and I probably shouldve gotten a 750+ on it. I guess I'll have to retake it then. Does a 780+ on SAT 1 Math help at all?
