Is is more difficult to be admitted if not state resident?

A bit. It can also be a hook.

It is definitely a little more difficult, since Mary Washington, being a state school, has a certain amount of in-state applicants it must accept. But like Proud Dad said, depending on where you're from, it can be a hook. Unfortunately I don't really know how much more difficult it is to get in as an out-of-stater, because I'm from Northern Virginia. You should definitely apply though, I'm having the time of my life here.
