When should out of state students get their decisions?

From everything I have heard and read they start mailing out decisions for out of state March 15th.

I would like to think they will mail out decisions Friday so they arrive Monday/Tuesday, the 15th for OOS, but everything I’ve heard points to decisions being mailed on the 15th, which means we’ll get it around the 17th or 18th

thanks everyone! i want to hear back now though…

Last year the decisions were mailed on the 15th but were available on the admitted students section of the website on the Sunday before the 15th, which would be this upcoming Sunday.

My D’s status at My Blue Hen changed overnight to waiting for FAFSA…any chance this means she’s accepted? Would they bother asking at this point if she’s denied? Does the FAFSA play a role in their decision?

My son’s status changed to the same overnight. I have a feeling this is just a global change for all pending apps, similarly to the “official notification via mail” change a few weeks back. I called a couple of colleges - not UDel - and they all said that they haven’t started pulling the info from FAFSA yet. So, just a generic update…

I would be shocked if UD hasn’t pulled up the FAFSA information yet because they provide financial aid with OOS admissions.

Zoosermom - how could they have not received it if it was filed in early Feb?

My D’s was filed end of January and it is listed as not received…hope this isn’t a universal change in status and the ‘not received’ means not requested…

Hmmmmmm, I LOVE me a conspiracy theory on admissions site changes! My Son also has this on the top part of his “received materials” column where “decision via mail” used to be. There still is a “decision sent via mail” (I paraphrase) in the bottom part of that column still.

If this sheds any insight…We indicated on the application that we would not be requesting any financial aid do the FAFSA form thing is weird. UD is also quite a reach for him…hope that helps!

i called admissions and they said that they put the “waiting for fasfa” up for everyone just to remind everyone to send it it

Hmmmm, not everyone has the “waiting” message. Some who submitted ages ago, my D included, do have the waiting message…

My mom called today and the nice lady said they worded the FAFSA thing terribly and a ton of people called about it. She also said that they were behind about a week for getting the decisions out… Take that how you will

how did everyone receive their My Blue Hen info? I neither got anything in the mail about it, nor an email.

Wilkey: "She also said that they were behind about a week for getting the decisions out… "

aww man waiting is tough

Collegebro- You have to make your own account. The easiest way to find the website is google “my blue hen home”. Somehow, they atch up all of your information.

Wilkey- That has got to be a joke. I will be so frustrated/disappointed/upset/waiting sucks if the decisions are late

You cannot be serious about that :(

I am being one hundred percent serious. I still think they will release a lot of decisions on March 15th because there is no reason not too, but I am almost positive there will be some people here who will be waiting a week or two past March 15th :(

Because my D’s FAFSA was filed way back in January, I contacted FAFSA and asked for confirmation that it was indeed submitted to UD. They responded that UD was indeed among the colleges allowed access to my D’s FAFSA. I was left with the impression that the schools must request the information, so a status of ‘not received’ for anyone who has it completed is less than promising, if indeed everyone’s status changed.
