Got my waitlisted letter today and I really don’t know if I will do it. UD was my number 1, but I am also thinking about UConn and I just don’t know if its worth wasting the 500$ cause that is a lot of money.

And on Monday I will be calling and unleashing a hellstorm of fury and anger at them cause this is just rediculous. I had told all my friends I got in, and then I woke up to about 15 text messages saying I got in, then I got my letter saying I didn’t… This is rediculous

i’m debating between University of Maryland, University of Pittsburgh, and University of Delaware, i’ve been accepted into all three so now i just need help deciding! does anyone have any suggestions??

alright im kinda very nervous now because I see no change in my myhen page and udel is my number 1 choice. I know this isn’t the best place for it…chance me?

wilkey, you didn’t lie and you shouldn’t be accused of that, how ridiculous!!! And I commend your attitude about not being angry. In my opinion though, I think you, and anyone else this happens to, are owed MORE than an explanation.

Wilkey- any one of us would be enormously disappointed if we were standing in your shoes…in fact…we will continue to be worried until we receive snail mail.

I’m sure you’re right that it was just a mistake-and not purposely done- still soooo hard to swallow-

OMG- Yesterday the whole CC Delaware thread was excited and jumping for joy because of the links posted to Decision Days! My son’s Said "CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING ACCEPTED TO DELAWARE with his first last and middle name!

I rejoice with the kids who we celebrated with yesterday and who still have That Delaware Days Invitation or confirmation along with (hopefully) a letter. By Calling Wilkey a liar or delusional-you’re saying the same thing to most of the others on the thread, some lucky enough to have been accepted.

Remember, these links yesterday followed a much-discussed pattern that preceded mailed envelopes by a day or two. There was no mistaking my son’s message. A little empathy…UD was many of these kid’s first choice, no time to get snarky.

brycdf27- He didn’t lie, he had an invite and a great big colorful page saying CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance. I know because my daughter had the same message, told all her friends, posted on facebook etc. This is unacceptable. How can you go from a PERSONALIZED acceptance to nothing in 24 hours with no explanation?!?!

Yes, in the same boat! we were so excited yesterday seeing that congratulations! even confirming our reservation for April visit, now we are worried it was all a mistake
Congrats! to all of you accepted! Still hoping for some good news in the mail.

Wilkey- hang in there you may still get the acceptance! UCONN is a great school, we visited the campus which was really nice! go visit if you haven’t already :)

Thanks colnewb. I actually was kinda sad and all, then I went on Uconns website and just got a huge smile and I realized Im gonna be so happy there.

But a HUUGEEEE congrats to everyone who was accepted!!!

And an even HUUGGEERRRR good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard yet!!!

charlieschm, I was wondering the same thing. Also, has anyone had a visual or performing arts, or athletic scholarship listed on their financial aid page?

anyone hear from UD who registered for decision Days (and got the web offer of acceptance) and lost it heard from UD? Any emails or calls?

I wrote this on the other thread. Know a kid invited to DD, signed up…last application=Game over. He never thought to RECHECK Blue Hen home. As Ud was his first choice…He actually contacted some his other schools to tell them HE WASN’T ATTENDING!!!

His Father is a big wig at NYU and is steaming…his mother an attorney, and well, she’s got some “strong opinions” as well if her kid’s not let in.

We have read with concern this thread on College Confidential and believe we should respond to the families who are experiencing such uncertainty at this time. All of our admission decisions are released to students via the U.S. Postal Service. Our web portal (“My Blue Hen Home”) does, however, include opportunities to sign up for campus visit programs. Before they received their letters from us, eleven students who had been waitlisted or denied admission used that portal to sign up for an admitted student program in April, and that sign-up screen does include the word, “congratulations.”

We take this matter seriously and brought staff in over the weekend to repair the technological error. We have contacted each of these eleven students via e-mail and are scheduling phone calls with all for Monday, March 15. Please know that we take our actions seriously and are working with each family individually on an appropriate resolution. While we realize that this will not stop the conversation on College Confidential, we believe it is our responsibility to inform the public of the current situation.

delawareadm: You are adding insult to injury. First you post an invitation, on their Blue Hen Home, which asks them to sign up for a Decision Day, and leads them to a screen that says “Congratulations on Being Accepted to the University of Delaware!”, then you publicly imply that they are somehow at fault for accepting the invitation.

You owe these 11 students an apology, here where you imply they somehow were at fault, and you need to take full responsibility for this mistake.
