Hang in there Udel15, who knows what to make of this recent update to the online status, one guess is as good as the next. I think our emotions are outweighing logical thought at this point. Try not to read too much into anything. In the electronic age in which we live, it’s difficult to connect rhyme or reason to words that appear on a screen. Hopefully we will have resolution real soon.

I just looked back at last year’s calendar. We (OOS) did not get any info on acceptance until Saturday, March 20, when it said “congratulations” on my DD’s Blue Hen page. The acceptance package came in the mail after that.

I know you are all dying over this. The wait is excruciating. But it is worth it. DD is loving freshman year!

Good advice K1. I haven’t seen any indication where someone HASN’T gotten this message and two cases where CC members called and were told it was a blanket update (not unlike the via mail update) sounds like everyone has exactly the same screen at this point? No one has a request for “final grades” or anything? This is especially preposterous for me. I’m not even a student and my son has narrowed down his choices to 2 schools (UD not one) He’s my last kid so this is it for exciting college decision notices!

D heard from UD, they said they pulled in over 20,000 FAFSA’s and are still sorting through…randomly, by priority, alphabetically…is anyone’s guess.

imanicollegehelp- no, some have FAFSA as received, others as not received, and the date of submission seems not to have anything to do with it. Some submitted a few days ago and theirs are in, others submitted in January and theirs are not.

k1k2k3- Not emotional, UD is a reach for my D, her SAT’s are good, but her GPA is a little low, she messed up one year, and had medical issues another. Knowing they have thousands of applicants to sift through, and the admission decisions are due in a few days, it would seem, logically, since date of submission has proven to be irrelevant, that the candidates they are most interested in will have their FAFSA’s processed first.

I wouldnt read into any of this. My D didnt fill out FAFSA and she checked off the box on the app that said she wouldnt be. Another person posted that they called the school and the school said it was a blanket message received or not received. My D received what we believe to be UDel’s version of a likely letter and her status says waiting for FAFSA which she will never submit. This means nothing and i am sure they just haven’t gotten thru posting all the FAFSA submissions that they have received. Take a BIG deep breath everyone it is almost over.

I spoke with someone in the admissions office today, and he said that UDel would start sending out decisions by the end of the week…

meaning tomorrow?

hopefully! The guy said they would be sent out snail mail and not to bother checking the blue hen page. He also said they would be sent out in waves…but the waves start “by the end of the week”

Wonder why they won’t use my blue hen…apparently a change from last year…hasn’t been a smooth year for my blue hen…all will be forgiven in D gets in!! :)

They used the blue hen page last year, but accessing the admitted students page was a workaround. I would check it starting this weekend.

I applied to be a music major. Just received a letter saying I was accepted into the Bachelors of Arts in Music pending acceptance to the University. I am hoping this is a good sign. Has anybody been accepted into a department and not been accepted into the university? It would seem like one would go with the other.

That’s interesting, I didn’t realize it was two separate admissions. My daughter applied to the art department, but we have had no word from the dept. or the university. It is kind of nice to know that you achieved acceptance into your major, regardless of what happens, so I’m glad they do it that way. Hopefully the art department works the same way.

If you don’t mind, can I ask if you also received the scholarship consideration/likely letter email a few weeks back? Since my D did not, I’m looking for any ray of hope.

Congrats on the music major acceptance, that’s quite an accomplishment.

On my blue hen, I have an invitation to Delaware days and that link says congrats on being accepted! I’m out of state btw.
That application status has no mention of acceptance, it still says official notification via mail

Superghuman, is there a link that says “what will you do?” on that page? If so, that’s the acceptance page. In coming days it would then have links for paying deposit, checking AP credit, and financial aid.

D got the same message!!!

OMG…Can’t be…Son has same Delaware days link with “Congratulations on BeinG Accepted”

Hmmmmmmmm, It’s a reach for him…anyone NOT have this???

I didn’t receive any letters or official emails until today. I’m guessing/hoping that if I get accepted I will get financial aid info along with the acceptance letter.

lidreamer, did you check your blue hen?

Peeps, go to the accepted students page on the bottom of the admissions page and sign in there to see what you find out.
