jstersh- There’s the rub, we had congratulations, you have been accepted messages yesterday, but the decision still says official notification in the mail

I believe what has been stated that all decisions were in the mail (not posted on MY BLUE HEN).

Maybe they complete all the hard copies first and send them by snail mail (which nobody has received yet) but it is taking more time to update individual blue hen pages depending on if the FAFSA is in- and when they actually got a chance to take a look at it- then if they have to make adjustments due to FAFSA information MY BLUE HEN information comes down to update, and goes up again.

my sons page has not changed- still has link for decision days (honors) and link for his Financial Package with scholarship info. But I do see decision day/admitted students day links added to the top right

That said, we will ALL feel better once a hard copy arrives in the mail - we are almost there…

hmmm ours things to do still reads:

We have received:
Essay
High School Transcript
Recommendation Letter
Official Test Score SAT/ACT
We are waiting for:
FAFSA Application
If you (or your school) have recently submitted supporting materials, please allow us time to process. Be patient and continue to revisit the site for updates!

our decision days detail link still appears with confirmation of visit for 4/9.

Hoping for the best!

nothing in the mail today…

Most of us will probably get mail Monday or Tuesday…our mail arrives in the afternoon-still hoping…

If anybody receives a packet by snail mail please post!!

wilkey- can you access the billing info?

My D’s status changed from “decision via us mail” to admitted for 2011. I can also get all her scholarship info/offer and the ability to book Decision Day and pay the deposit. I am not sure what is going on for anyone else and it would be a terrible terrible thing if there was a website glitch at this point. I am so very excited for my D as this was her first choice, but can feel everyone else’s pain and frustration on the lack of clear communication. If anyone needs to know anything else about my D’s page and what it looks like feel free to ask. I am 150% confident my D’s is an official acceptance. She is on there admitted student Facebook page and I am about to pay the deposit.

hi, dogsrthebest, when did the status change?

I think anyone who’s Blue Hen account showed any specific financial award (unlike the “Mail message” or “Decision Days” you are all OK. Certainly, anyone OOS whose link says “accepted” is OK. In general, I jump on every positive announcement and print them out with the screen that shows “everything we need had been received” because after applying to 15 schools, there were at least 3 where everything was being processed and something went rogue.

When I saw a link under accepted students, or future students in the Syracuse pages and it took my son’s info, I registered for that accepted event too. I know it might be jumping the gun, but the truth was only one day would have worked for him and I didn’t want him closed out. We got an email confirming that registration as well; but unlike UD that voluntarily “posted” the DD link, this one I had to hunt for a bit.

I was able to not only print the DD confirmation but the page before that says in bold “CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING ACCEPTED TO the UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE!” and his name defaulted and printed on that page. I agree with what was posted above, if it was unintended (for whatever reason) someone consciously pulled it. If it were a HORRIBLE fluke? I think ID would have been able to post an announcement under “admissions” before more damage was done and hearts broken!

Son never got email with pin #! is there any way to remedy this on the weekend? DOes anyone know?

Ours is just like dogsrthebest. Maybe the glitch has to do w honors vs non honors or financial aid vs non financial aid. I wish you all the very best of luck!

I just got my acceptance in the mail. One question I have, though, is whether the scholarship shown is for all four years or simply the first. For example, if it says I’ll be rewarded with $x for the fall semester and $y for the spring semester, will I be receiving $x and $y every year or just freshman year?

PAquestion: with regards to scholarship term there is a spot just below the amounts that explains the scholarship in full. You ahve to click on the link. My D’s scholarship was all 4 years as long as she maintains a 3.0

UDel15: Last night at about 6pm eastern I saw the facebook admit join section and the Decision day and nothing else. I log’d out and then about 30 minutes later log’s back in and notice the admit term change, the link gone for the Decision Day and a whole bunch of other stuff on the right hand side (deposit, housing, financial aid, etc).

If it helps, my D is not honors and wasn’t applying for any financial aid so no FAFSA form was filled out. She did receive a few weeks ago what we believe to be their version of a likely letter letting her know they were impressed and were considereing her for merit money which she ultiamtely got…YEA!!

I just noticed one other change. In the upper right hand corner where it says “Announcements” her page now says “visit this spring exclusively for admitted students” and there are 5-6 options she can choose from, one of them being Decision Days

My page has stayed the same opening with the admitted students facebook group and then a list of things an admitted student could do (pay deposit, housing, ect.). I never filed for a FAFSA and have no intention to so I do not think it has anything to do with that. Also at the bottom of the page it says plan to attend: fall 2011 admitted for: fall 2011.
Sorry to hear about the confusing page changes that sucks!!! Just thought I would put in word about having a FAFSA or not.

Ok, there seems to be two camps. The kids that got scholarship or merit awards, the Honors college kids (many of the same I’m sure) and the kids who APPLIED for FAFSA and had seen some $$$$ number on their Financial page at one time? (not sure of the last part)

And the kids who didn’t get likely letters, SHouldn’t get merit money or honors college (please, I mean no offense, my kid is one and I’m being pragmatic) and/or didn’t apply for FAFSA or financial aid? Seem right?

The Honors/Merit kids (maybe the kids whose financial aid numbers were posted) HAD the Decision Day, Might STILL have the Decision day under their general invitations, or the post-it note message on the top right, and most have some reference to being “admitted” or a facebook link for admitted students, OR their “You Plan to Start” line says “You are enrolled for”

The other kids, like my own, HAD a decision Day link that they either rSVPed to or didn’t. If they applied, the Decision day reservation still shows, but there are no references to a specific FB group for ADMITTED students (just UD FB groups n such) but if you click the finance my education info, your kids name comes up on the screen but with a $0 balance?

Its Common sense that UD WOULD contact the Honors and Merit award kids first…all schools do, it’s kind of a given? So maybe the glitch was the fact that the non-merit, non honors kids got that DD day link a bit too early? It’s very hard to separate the variables because quite frankly, the kids who wouldn’t qualify for honors or Merit $$$ would also be the borderline kids “acceptance-wise” And that’s why we’re panicking?

Does this thesis seem right?

Yup…definitely panicking!

Just got the package in the snail mail. The honors and scholarship was included in the letter. The Blue Hen site was correct. Congratulations!

That’s what I was thinking too imanicollegehelp…you said it well. My daughter is unlikely to receive any merit or FAFSA awards, so I would not expect her to be in the first wave of notifications…

It would make sense to me that the best and the brightest would hear first, and I’m crossing my fingers that all those who had access to the DD link are ultimately in, but that the link was accidentally put up early and has been temporarily removed. I hope this wasn’t a universal “oops, we gave everyone access…”
