I am a very strong writer so I do not believe that essays will be an issue and my grade trends are very strong.

I'm am looking in to business.

I suggest you try to pull up you ACT. This year OOS ACTs were around 34. The rest looks strong.

Like Ohioone said, I would try to pull up the standardized tests. For the SAT, you’ll want to shoot for 2150+, and definitely make sure you stay in the top 10% of your class. However, I feel like essays are a huge deciding factor in OOS applicants, so that should definitely help you. Essays are also one of the biggest factors in determining merit scholarships and possibly the honors program.

Do the following:

pull up your ACT scores as much as possible (34+) or SAT 2150+

keep up your grades

write very very good essays.

make yourself as unique as possible (in a good way).

Good Luck. I was an OOS Early applicant this year and got a full ride.

UNC probably expects THEIR students to know the difference between there and their.

Unfortunate typo, no need to be harsh. After all, this is a forum and 100% spelling and grammar accuracy should not be expected. Just for you, I will have my next post revised, edited, sent to a publisher, and then posted on this informal forum site. Believe me, if I were unable to differentiate between their and there, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill would not be on my college list.
