Does UoMich really offer NO oos financial aid?

Huh? Who told you that? Michigan meets anywhere between 70% and 100% of demonstrated OOS students' needs. Yes, Michigan is not the most generous university, but it does provide more than adequate FA to OOS students.

do they give that based on time or what , i want the 100%!!!!!

For need based aid, Michigan meets close to 100% of in-staters' demonstrated need and 70%-100% of OOS need. How much one gets is actually very random.

REALLY?!!?!? i could of sworn i read somewere UoMich does not give OOS fin aid. Hmmm let me look for the article, i could be mistaken but I hope I am because when I read the article I was disappointed

Im searching for it now but I think i remember it saying UoM didnt have suffient funds to provide need based aid for OOS students, i could of misinterpted it

Yes, you are mistaken. I am surprised that a dozen or so regulars on this forum aren't posting on this thread, telling you about how, as OOS students, Michigan met theor FA needs. Michigan is not as wealthy as Harvard or Princeton or Yale, but with the 6th largest endowment in the country, it can definitely afford giving out significant aid to OOS applicants.

Woot! Yeah I was pretty crestfallen when someone told me Umich didnt give OOS because this is my top choice :D thanks for responses

Alex, I've posted about how generous Michigan has been to me. (I'm oos) It just seems this stuff pops up every week. Who's been spreading these rumors?!

(I believe the official message from the University to applicants is that they don't have the resources to guarantee to meet 100% of OOS needs for everyone. From first hand experience, very few colleges really meets 100% of needs even if they advertise it that way.)
