OOS Financial Aid for a low-income applicant?

I already have a pretty good list, but I want to look at all of my options.

How much aid would UMich give me?

Income: 20K/year
GPA: 3.7 unweighted
SAT: 2100
amazing ecs, essays, and recommendations. questbridge finalist.

Basically, would it end up being more expensive or less expensive than a UC? I want to study finance

Thanks

I doubt Michigan will do a whole lot for you.

i had 50% more parental income, and i ended up getting 80-90% of my needs met with grants.

I’m going to guess UCs are gonna be cheaper for you, but Michigan isn’t going to cost more than 5k more per year. Michigan was the same cost as my state school, SUNY.

Hmm ok thanks.

How much difference in cost would I be looking at with Cal vs Mich vs BU vs NYU?

You really can’t know any of this until you make application, get accepted, and review your offers. Seriously, otherwise we’d just be making it up. It’s case by case, package by package. Mich is not 100% need met school for OOS, which doesn’t mean they don’t sometimes meet all need. Don’t know about the others. Make the effort to apply everywhere you want to go, and be prepared to choose based on the best offer.
Do note that NYU is typically not great with Fin Aid. But there are always exceptions.

At 20,000 income why are you looking for merit as opposed to meeting full need. International or lots of assets but low income?
