OOS Financial Aid or Scholarships

I am an admitted out of state student. I am a little confused about how financial aid works for out of state students. My family is above middle class, so I don’t expect that it would possible to get any aid from being low income. However, I am curious about other possible options. Does Berkeley give any scholarships to OOS students based on merit alone? I’ve looked in the financial aid section of CalCentral and nothing has come up yet. I am a little worried about having to pay $50,000… (BTW, I did not get the Regents scholarship. I am curious about scholarships besides that).

UC is essentially broke, so there is almost no merit aid available.

From the website:
Most of the gift aid awarded by UC, the federal government, and the state of California is awarded on the basis of need.

Here is a link of available UCB scholarships but most are targeted for in-state students. The link is dated 2013-2014 but the majority of the merit scholarships listed are still being offerred.

Darn… I guess student loan debt here I come.

@MrDavis97 50k? O.o My total OOS costs says 60k…

Your parents would have to apply for a loan for you since you can only take out $5500 for freshman year. Going into debt for an OOS school is not worth it.
