My daughter OOS Engineer (34 ACT, 4.1 GPA) is hoping for the National Buckeye and Some Additional Merit Scholarship money as this is the only way we can afford being from OOS. I realize that she may be hearing about it in the next few weeks. She also applied for the Morrill Diversity Scholarship. How would that work? Do they let you know of the Buckeye first, then maybe the Morrill in a few more weeks/months? Or do they wait to see if you get the Morrill before they let you know about the Buckeye as it would be either/or?
Here’s my D’s timeframe from last year: Her application was submitted at the end of October. She was accepted on 12/4 (there were students who received their admissions a week or two earlier than that). She received the Maximus and National Buckeye on 12/17. She received the email with admission to the Scholars program on 12/23. She received the email awarding her the Morrill Prominence scholarship on 1/4.
@momfactfinder was your daughter able to stack those scholarships? I have seen people say both, you are able to stack and some say you are unable to stack.
The National Buckeye Scholarship stacks with the Maximus/Provost/Trustee scholarships. So, for example, your D can receive a Maximus ($5,000) PLUS the National Buckeye ($12,500). But the Morrill scholarship does not stack. If your student receives a Morrill scholarship, the merit scholarships are replaced by the Morrill scholarship. She will get full tuition instead of the $17,500. My D is LOVING life at Ohio State - Go Bucks!
Thank you @momfactfinder. She was just admitted today!
@momfactfinder my daughter just checked this evening and was “admitted” Great news for OOS - now time to sit back and hopefully have her receive the National Buckeye
