hey I was just wondering if some of the OOS people who received likely letters could post their stats, courses, EC's and all that stuff?

bump......

Hmm I didn't get a likely letter, but I got a likely e-mail of sorts (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-north-carolina-chapel-hill/619757-e-mail-admissions.html). Would I be of any help, or not what you're looking for? :)

yea i had already read your post and yours seems just as good if not better than a letter, so if you could put your stats up that would be great.

Sure thing.

I'm curious, you stated above

"I have all IB classes with a couple of APs mixed in (Human Geo = 5, English Lit = 5)"

What do you mean you have "all" IB classes? I'm curious how you are differentiating IB from AP?

The only reason I ask is because at my school, all but about 3 IB classes, they teach AP & IB students together and the IB students just have to do additional work and the portfolio of course. So, I am wondering how your school does it differently. Also, you didn't mention if your school was public or private.

thanks

Sorry about any confusion I may have generated. I go to a public school. We have a very large IB program (if I'm not mistaken, it's the second largest in the US by number of exams administered). Our IB and AP classes are entirely different - often taught by different teachers. A couple of the IB classes I've taken have also prepared us sit for an AP exam of the same subject, but, generally speaking, non-IB students cannot take IB classes, due to program restrictions which I'm not 100% clear on myself. APs are open to anyone with the proper prerequisites. Hope this helps!

And you'll have to forgive me, itsme123. I modified the adjective "unique" with the adverb "very" under the impression that the former would be taken to mean "peculiar" or "unusual" rather than "singular" or "unequaled" - I do not think so highly of myself :) I can see that I'll have to be more careful with my assumptions from now on.
