Hi, I’ve been searching to OSU site to see when they estimate when they will announce who receives scholarships such as the National Buckeye scholarship, however I’ve been unable to find any info. Does anyone know when they expect to hand out scholarships for accepted EA students? Will it have to be after the mid-January cutoff?

My son received a letter on Saturday for the Buckeye and Maximus scholarships. He was accepted Nov 26.

got my letter in the mail today! nat’l buckeye and Maximus. accepted in first round of decisions

I called Admissions office today. The Maximus and Buckeye went out. They are sending them out in rounds. If you don’t qualify for the Maximus then it might be a few weeks. Admissions office was very helpful in getting information :)

What are your stats @ncsandy

I’m worried because I got a 28 act is that enough for the national buckeye and the Maximus?

@nls9797 I’m sorry but for the Maximus they require you to have at least a 32 on your ACT. However, you do qualify for the trustees with a 28 ACT as long as you are ranked in the top 20% of your class. It’s value is 2K annually. Good luck

I meant am I qualified for the trustees lol. But thanks

I have a 32 ACT and my school doesn’t rank! @nls9

How strict are they about the 3% class rank requirement? I have a 32 ACT and I’m 4.2% in a class of over 400 at a school that doesn’t weight gpa and I’ve taken several APs. Admissions said they would recalculate my gpa and class rank with their own methods, so does this mean I still have a chance at Maximus? Or the Honors program?

That is a great question. Anybody have any insight into this?

Just got the snail mail acceptance letter. Here’s hoping I get the financial aid letters soon.

My son’s HS doesn’t rank and he still got the Maximus scholarship, if that’s helpful to anyone.

@Putterer What were his stats? if you don’t mind my asking

My son was accepted right before Thanksgiving. We too are waiting for scholarship possibilities. he is out of state student with ACT 31. Anyone have any idea what he may qualify for? our high school does not rank.

@mydeskisamess, Love that name, BTW!
1560/2300 SAT (one sitting), 4.0 uw/4.7 w GPA, 11 APs, dual enroll math this year.

Still waiting to see if my OOS son gets the national buckeye scholarships. He was accepted in the early rounds, November 21st. He’s top 3% of his class out of 404 students, ACT 29, 4.0 UW, 4.1250 W & muliptle AP test scores of no lower than a 4.

@putter haha thanks. And that’s impressive, no wonder! Congratulations to him on the scholarship!

I am sure he will be offered something, but an ACT score of 29 is just average for Ohio State admittees. I am kind of surprised he did not score better on the ACT given his class rank.

irishbuckey, as you probably already know, with the time constraints of taking an ACT can be a challenge for some students. my son’s scores on math and science was over 30 but reading and English hurt him because he’s not a fast reader. I can guarantee you that his class load and AP scores is just as good if not better than students who score 32-36 on their ACT scores. His average score may or may not get him the National Buckeye Scholarship but only time will tell.
