@chuck222 I will ask the same question I asked earlier was the $15,000 he was offered the same as what the merit aid calculator estimated? When did your son apply?
almost identical …net cost calculator threw in a little more ( 1,500 or so)…he applied right at the honors deadline can’t remember the date
@chuck222 Thanks.
OK did it again to be totally accurate…17,500 was our total package according to calculator…so 2500 a year more than the 15000 stated in letter…but it says merit/need based…my wife and I both teach so we might have qualified for a little financial aid
@chuck222 That is the estimate we get for my daughter $15,000 merit plus $2500 merit/need. The $2500 merit/need supposedly we show up after filing a FAFSA. We don’t qualify for much need based aid at other state schools but appear to qualify for the extra $2500 at Clemson.
OOS admission today. $7500/year. Probably b/c of test (ACT 34), as GPA (3.56 UW) and approximate rank (~20%) were not helpful. Still pleased, as it is better than nothing.
My son received his OOS admissions today also. $7500/year. ACT 30 (31 superscore). GPA 3.60 and rank 22%. The calculator said this as well. I changed the variables in the calculator and although I didn’t record the results there are clearly breakpoints for 7500, 10000, 12500 and 15000. Your class rank of <10%, 10-20% and greater is a limiter as well as your ACT score.
Just ran through calculator again. OOS. 11-25% class rank and >=30 ACT is $7500 (even a 36 ACT). <10% 28-31 = $7500, , 32 = $10000, 33+ = $15000.
@Jman1234 The calculator seems to change for some reason. I ran these numbers a few weeks ago and a 32 ACT returned $15000. I ran it yesterday and got the same result as you ($10000). I wonder if it depends on when the application is submitted??
You have to wonder about the value of the NCC…I am supposing those numbers don’t often to match up when the actual offer comes…It’s fun for my personal curiosity but I would not want be working admissions when the real envelopes go out.
