Hi, I just received my admissions packet, and I was looking forward to see if they put in anything about me receiving out of state scholarship. I have heard that other out of staters can receive like a 15,000 dollar a year scholarship. I didn't see anything.

Does the scholarship notice come in the initial packet, or does it come later? Also, do you think I have a shot?

I think it generally takes a couple weeks to be informed of scholarships. Jfitz, I'd say you have a pretty good shot at the 15,000/year (as long as they haven't given them all out yet). Your stats are pretty much the same as mine, and I got the engineering scholarship which is comparable to the LSA one. Although I am in-state.

Son got one from the university in a letter that arrived the next day and two others somewhat later. We had been told that the merit money opportunites were better if applications were in by November 1. I do not know how they allocate throughout the application season.

jfitz, my stats were similar to yours and I didn't receive anything from LS&A... just outside scholarships. However, my guess is that my application was complete around mid to late November. I hope you get one.

When was your app complete? I'd say my stats are similar (although I'll admit I don't really know ACT/SAT conversions) and I haven't gotten anything yet, got in 12/15.

Not to try to discourage you or anything, I'd say you have a shot. I just want to see if I have a shot too, heh. Good luck!
