OOS Scholarships

My son got the partial scholarship for OOS ($5k/yr) and Clemson is his first choice. Problem is NC State in-state cost is $15,000 per year less and he got in there as well.

Is it possible to appeal the scholarship amount to lessen the difference between the two? If so, who would be the right person to contact?

Not sure if you can appeal the scholarship amount but it sounds like admissions would be the people to talk to about that

I unfortunately doubt you can, unless a mistake was made.

Regardless, as pierre said, admissions either can help, or can put you in the right direction.

Good luck!

We are in the same boat except my son has been deferred to UNC and that is his first choice. I’m a Clemson grad and would prefer Clemson, just wish Clemson had waived out of state tuition.

Is there any kind of appeal process? We are also in a position to establish residency in SC and might take that route.

Unfortunately it doesn’t appear that there is an appeals process with regards to scholarship money. If you would like to go the route of getting SC residency, there’s a lot of info on this website that will help you out with that: [Welcome to Residency Classification : Clemson University](<a href=“Residency Classification | Clemson University”>Residency Classification | Clemson University)

son didn’t get an OOS scholarship so its too expensive similar to private schools

Can someone help me out here; I am thinking of going to Clemson, I am OOS, and I am concerned about merit aid. Do you think there is a good chance for me to receive aid? SAT: 1300 GPA:3.54 highs hook doesn’t report rankings. Thanks!

i think all merit aid was given away but i am not sure.

I don’t think that it’s likely you’ll get any scholarship money at this point
