Come on guys a little help here. I have a 4.3 GPA and 32 ACT plenty of leadership positions, varsity sport, EC’s, community service hours. What do you think my chances of getting merit aid are?

thanks

Most guaranteed dollar amounts are reserved for in state students. The most I’ve heard of for OOS is half tuition. OOS scholarships aren’t as well regulated, though, so it’s hard to say exactly.

Taciturn Type…I saw on a previous post that you were accepted to UConn Honors Program with a full tuition scholarship. Are you in state or OOS? and if you dont mind what were your stats. I really want to attend UConn but I need to find some serious merit money.

I’m in state. My scholarship was guaranteed because I was the salutatorian of my high school class. Half tuition for OOS is about 13-14k a year, but scholarships are very competitive for OOS students. UConn has been trying to raise its rankings profile for the last few years, which means scholarships are becoming more competitive for everyone.

Some are beginning to change there opinion to the idea that UConn is not a safety school for anyone anymore. It was for me, and it definitely still is for many students, but as applications increase each year, money is getting tight.

What’s your class rank? I’ve heard that they have a similar scholarship for Val’s and sals of OOS schools except at half tuition.

My school is extremely competitive so they dont rank. I would gladly accept a half-tuition scholarship
