OOS Scholarships

Question: If the point of the OOS scholarship is to attract students to Illinois who otherwise wouldnt, would accepting an offer of admission before they are announced in March effectively kill your chances of getting one by making it "wasted" on you?

OOS scholarships for which amounts can vary are doled out generally based on amount of money designated to be available for the year and then based on rank(GPA) and test score of those accepted; accepting now will have no impact one way or the other on being offered one.

yeah good question

the answer was good too so I'm just going to offer some extra advice.

I'm a freshman OOS student at UIUC right now (with a pretty sweet OOS scholarship) and I would like to urge you to just go ahead and accept your offer of admission ASAP if you're sure about it because of the housing. My housing this year is fine (I'm in the university dorms) BUT if I hadn't waited until the last weekend before the deadline I would've gotten the dorm I really wanted.
