Has anyone received any yet??

Yes, I got an oos scholarship for $1000/year. I’m sure they’re still giving them out though, so don’t worry.

Congrats: Do you mean $10,000 or $1,000?? Would you please share stats (ACT, STAT, GPA etc, etc )including state, your major and whether or not you had any special circumstances which they refer to on this site as a “hook”. Thanks so much.

I really really want to go to Umich but if I don’t any $$ then I can’t go :[ Plus, mid-March is coming around soon and they say thats when all of their scholarships will be given out so I don’t know. I really hope I (and everyone else) get a good scholarship!!

I also received that $1,000 a year scholarship for OOS students. My ACT score was 33 and my Gpa was about 3.7 with an upward trend. Taking a very hard curriculum. I also got into the honors program. I got the scholarship award a few months ago, and I hope it is not the last I will be hearing in terms of scholarships…

stopit: Well good luck…you should feel lucky to have gotten that much at all. My engineering son had 33 ACT, 4.0/4.3 all honors 11 AP top 2% and got NADA!!

they have all been sent out?

yeah i have a 31 ACT (35 E) and top 4% of a competitive school and have yet to get anything. I didn’t expect anything huge but I did expect a few thousand at least!

Well…that’s not good news for me then. Maybe they award scholarships differently for engineering students than LSA? Idk…

I hope so! I also got accepted to LSA

I still haven’t gotten anything yet…

3.91 UW GPA, top 5% rank, 35 ACT (new score from December 2009)

I really hope I get something soon. Based on the other scholarship recipients’ stats, I think I should…please Michigan!

Pretty sure you know about me, but:

$20,000/yr engineering scholarship

33 ACT (35 math), 3.88/3.04 gpa, first-gen college student, white, male, top 10%, 100% in BC Calc, from Kentucky, hardest math classes, hardest english, weak science/social studies courseload, 6 AP Classes, 4 of which are senior year (BC Calc, French, English Lit, Psychology) no IB (school doesn’t offer)

skywalker: Have you gotten any $$ from UIUC…another great school for Engineering? Their OOS Tuition is also very high. Lightja is a very lucky guy…you have great stats but he has the “hook” of Kentucky and first generation college student. Michigan loves the diversity factor…which is a big reason my s choose michigan along with the great engineering program. They do not have to have an honors program for engineering like many other schools cause it is already an honor to be accepted into their engineering program!! GO BLUE!!!
