Hi...

I have a 670 in Reading, 680 in Math, and 740 in Writing...

I am an OOS white male...

(GPA: 97, rank: top 5% out of 215)

I'm aware my SATs for Out-of-state pretty much suck...Should I not even bother applying to William and Mary?

Be honest, thank you!

Honestly, why not? If you like the school, give it a shot. They're not filtering applications based solely on SAT scores - if they were, I definitely wouldn't be here. You have extracurriculars, recommendations and essays all working in your favor, too!

thanks for the encouragement loveinPPR! i REALLY liked the school when i was down there visiting...it would be a dream come true to get into William and Mary, so ill hope for the best

Your GPA and rank are excellent, and your SATs certainly qualify you for admission. It's tough from OOS, but being a guy seems to help. If you've taken a rigorous courseload, have some nice ECs, and can really make your essays shine, I'd say you have a good chance.

The optional submission is a great chance to make the admissions committee see who you really are. I suggest putting as much time and effort into it as you reasonably can. I also suggest submitting 2 teacher recs (as long as they're excellent ones), even though the application only requires the guidance counselor's recommendation. Good luck!

err... your stats are competitive. you should definitely apply
