I just have a quick question, do colleges try to aim for diversity in terms of where people are from. For example, if a student was wanting to go to an okay private school in California, and is from Alaska, is that an advantage if that college doesn’t have anyone in their admissions from that state (Assuming this student has same stats as someone from California)?
Yes. Most private schools aim for geographic diversity.
Rural can also help.
They prefer to have geographical diversity, but they’re not going to admit someone who’s obviously underqualified, for the sole sake of ticking the Idaho box.
