I am currently applying to ND as an out of state junior transfer student. The universities website has a headline informing transfer students about the possiblity of having to live off-campus for a semester before getting into the dorms.

My question is does anybody know how hard it is too meet people for transfer students especially if one would have to live off campus?

It is your lucky day, I transferred to ND and lived off-campus for my first semester. I worried about this at first because I am not the most outgoing guy. However, my worries were quickly erased. I met many transfers during transfer orientation and I stuck with these friends having dinner with them several times a week. By doing this I got to know them better and also got to meet their friends. Additionally, I met a lot of people through my classes, more than I would have thought.

Anyways, that isn't the best answer, but I really didn't find it difficult to meet people even with being off-campus. You can still spend a lot of time on-campus if you are off-campus as well, you know? ND hooks you up with an adoptive dorm so you still can play dorm football, go to dorm Mass, and get to know people through that as well. Try not to let the off-campus situatino be a deciding factor...it worried me as well but let me tell you that it was good for me and that transferring was the best decision I have ever made.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch. I wish you the best of luck. Also, check out my website on transferring, it could help... www.nd.edu/~mnadorff/transfer.
