OOS Tuition, All four years?

I've been accepted to UNC's class of 2013, woohoo!

I was thinking it might to expensive for me, but someone told me today that you only have to pay the OOS tuition cost for the 1st year. After that, you can apply for "residency status" and get in-state tuition. I've never heard of that before.

I know it's a stupid question, but that's not true is it?

No, it is not true. Qualifying for in state residency is a difficult process.

It is a really hard process.

hmm… interesting. i guess this isn’t commonly done?

thanks for the help anyway. i might end up taking the full ride at my state school.
