Someone suggested madison to me and said they have some sort of tuition exchange with Minnesota. i dont if this is true, but i was wondering if there this is true, is there something similar with Michigan (where i live)?

Reciprocity. And no, we do not have reciprocity with Michigan.

WI and MN have a tuition reciprocity type agreement that includes UW Madison. There is another program that includes MI, but UW Madison is not included.

Yea, due to aggreements, anyone in Minnesota can go to any public school in Wisconsin for instate rates, and vice versa.

It doesn’t apply to Michigan or any other states though.

To clarify - Minn and Wis residents pay instate tuition as determined by their state of residence, not the instate tuition for the state they go to school in. In the past this has lead to some interesting situations such as Wis residents paying less than Minn residents at U of Minn.

That’s still the case too. Uminn instate is nearly $3000 more than UW. UW could do a lot with that extra $$$$. Maybe someday.
