Can you get an out of state tuition wavier if you were admitted for Liberal Arts? I hear many people talking about getting waviers for business or engineering, can you get a wavier if you qualify regardless of your major if you get a scholarship of 1,000 dollars or more?

I think it depends on the major/college. You should look at the Liberal Arts website and see if it says anything about OOS tuition waivers.

yah thanks, it doesnt say anything about undergraduate waviers only about getting a wavier as a graduate student. I hear that if you get a scholarship of 1,000 dollars or more you are authomatically bumped down to instate tuition is this true?

Yes, it’s true. It’s in the state statutes somewhere…I’ve seen it. But these in-state tuition waivers are very, very few and far between and probably even less so in Liberal Arts (money being an issue). Hoping here for my son – TX is his top choice, but money will be a BIG roadblock without that waiver. I know we’re not alone.

just bumping the message

I am pretty sure it is not automatic, and it is very limited. It is posted on the engineering web pages that they have very few oos waivers to offer. This website might help:
