OOS Tuition Waiver

What is a tuition waiver? Also, how would someone qualify for one? I am looking to apply to UW and can't find their requirements. Any and all info will be helpful. Thanks

An OOS tuition waiver is when a college charges an OOS student IS tuition. Some merit scholarships include an OOS tuition waiver. All public colleges do not offer OOS tuition waivers.

There are several UWs, please go to the individual college forum and ask there.

A friend of mine got a scholarship over the summer at PSU long after his financial aid package came out that gave him an OOS tuition waiver. So in some instances you might just be surprised with one. Its usually reserved for the top OOS students though.

It can also be geographic - For example, many schools that sit on or near a state border will offer an OOS tuition waiver to people from the adjoining state. In reality there are some smaller public schools that will offer these.

So unless you’re a top student, you shouldn’t apply for a OOS tuition waiver?

OK, I’ll walk you through this. Which UW are you talking about and in what state are you a resident?

Looks like UW = UWisc

If you’re a Minn resident, here is information about the reciprocity agreement:

There are 377 scholarships listed for fr admits:

Perhaps some include OOS tuition waivers; again, people on the UWisc forum would the most likely to know if any exist.

Okay thank you for the help
