<p>For the UC personal statement question number 3, I would like to discuss how my immigration status has affected my life and allowed me to appreciate what I have. </p>
<p>I came to the US when I was 7 and I am almost 18, and still have not obtainted my permanent residence card. My case has just been processed really slowly. I don't know when I will get the card and the earliest I can become an American citizen is probably in my mid-20's, if that. </p>
<p>I can't lie and say it has affected me, because it has. I feel American, you know? English is the only language I know how to speak now and stuff. However, going through this has made me not take anything for granted.. honestly... like getting a part time job or whatever. </p>
<p>What do you think? Is it a good topic? Or does it sound too overdone for UCs?</p>
