Hey, Im going to the admitted students open house on Monday and I was wondering if people who went on Friday could tell me how they enjoyed the experience or what the day was like? Thanks!

Hi mss1206,

I thought it was a great day and very informative.

The day started with breakfast from 8-9, so you do not have to eat breakfast or stress if you are a little late. Our gift was an Emory draw string bag to put our info in which was really great. There were a lot of people there. It was oversubscribed, so the room was jam packed. This was the agenda:

President of Emory, Dr. James Wagner
First Year Orientation and Advising
Students Attended a mock class–you could choose from 4 different classes
Parents listed to the Dean or Emory College of Arts and Sciences
Resident Life and Housing
Campus Life–Activities and clubs

Student’s went to lunch with another Emory Student and listened to a student panel.
Parents listened to Emory Parents experience and had lunch together

Study Abroad
Career Center
Campus tour
Coca Cola Toast–ended at 3:30

Optional interest tours of the Business School, Chemistry-Science and Schwartz Center for Performing Arts after the toast.

Also during the day, you could go to meet with people at the Pre-Health Mentoring Office, Financial Aid, Alumni Legacy Students, Emory Bookstore, and Career Center.

It was a good day. Great to ask your questions from different students and faculty. A lot of students still looking at schools and deciding. I was glad I attended and met all the different directors of the different areas of Emory. I will feel more at ease to contact them in the future when I have questions.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the info! Did you meet back with parents after lunch?

Yes, after lunch we all were together to listen to the afternoon speakers and attend the tours. Let me know how your day goes!
