Open House tomorrow

Any Wes students have any classes on Friday that you would recommend to a prospective student? We are going to the Open House tomorrow and D would like to sit in on a class - preferably in the afternoon.

I'll put in my 2 cents. My son and I were there about two weeks ago on a Friday for a second visit, interview and to sit in on a class. My son ended up by accident sitting in on an economics class with professor Adelstein (I might be spelling it wrong). During that time, I was at the admissions office and happened to fall into a conversation with a women at the desk who is a senior in the the College of Social Studies (CSS). She said that professor Adelstein was a great professor. He might have been her advisor. I had a great conversation with her about CSS as it is a program that my son might be interested in. I hope this helps.

Movinmom, How did it go. We were at Lafayette for the day.

We had a great day. We had a four hour drive so we were short on time. D loved it and would like to return for an overnight and an opportunity to attend classes. B/c we arrived close to 11:30, the class selection for Friday afternoon was limited. D chose instead to wander around, have a tour, attend the admissions session and spend her extra time getting a feel for Wesleyan and looking through records in some second hand store in the town. This is my third time visiting - twice with my older D who is a D3 athlete but Wes was not a fit for her....quite the contrary for D2 who has been a vegetarian since age 5, loves everything vintage, NPR, has no patience for preppies, etc. She is very different from her older sister and it is fun to try to help her find environments in which she will thrive. She just loved Wes and I will be curious how it fares in her college search since we are just beginning (she is a junior).
