Does anyone know if UF is having an open house anytime soon? I currently live in New Jersey and have yet to see UF. I just got accepted and I definitely have to see the place before deciding to go there. I couldn't find anything on the website so any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

what were your stats. my son will be applying next fall oos. just wondering what your profile looked like.

thanks

Thanks guys!! My stats were pretty low for UF. I applied as an accounting major. At the time when I applied, I had a 1210/1880 and a 3.7uw/4.0w (top 10%). I only sent a counselor recommendation but I had tons of ECs including President of Guitar Ensemble, Community Chairperson of Interact, 150 library volunteer hours, NHS, and varsity softball. I was also a National Merit Commended Scholar and sent my scores to UF during my junior year. My essay was alright, but nothing spectacular since applying to UF was kind of a spur of the moment thing. However, after surprisingly being accepted, I'm really thinking of going. Good luck to your son, nycollegedad!!!

Dani - please take the time to visit if at all possible. My son applied 2 years ago (oos from PA) - last minute thing like you and visited after he was accepted. He already had 4 acceptances - all schools which he would have been very happy to attend. My husband is a U of F alum and took him to Gainesville for the visit. A tour, information session and visit to the engineering department of interest was all it took for my son to call home that same day with the message, "Mom, I'm gonna be a Gator".
