Has anyone previously attended one of these events? Is it formal? Do we need to be dressed up a bit? Any info would help! Thanks!

i am wondering the same thing since i am going tomorrow

Its NYC, no be yourself, you don't have to get dressed up.

it's casual. just dress like a tourist or in everyday clothes.

DON'T DRESS UP! You'll look so out of place, trust me haha. I went to a Tisch Open House on Sat, like one kid got dressed up and he looked pretty embarassed. You could tell he was from out of town, lol. I actually didn't even think about formal wear, the thought never even registered in my head. Is that bad? haha

I went to open houses at Stern and CAS today and just about no one but the professors talking were dressed up. Lol.

some professors like to dress up for work but some are also quite casual.

How was the Stern/CAS Open house? I bet half the kids were Asian weren't they? Haha, at the Tisch Open house, I only counted able 5-6 asians including myself. Less competition for me, haha

I went to the Stern, and yes, there were a lot of asians.

haha I remember at my open house I saw this like 10 yr old with an enormous LLBean bag twice his size flanked by his mommy and daddy...bit early to start looking for colleges.

and yeah don't get dressed up. jeans are fine.

Haha. Yeah a lot of the kids at Stern were Asians.
Not as many at CAS, but still a good number. I though this one was quite boring compared to Stern.
I find it to be a pretty diverse school.
