Open or New Curriculum at Brown

Hi guys! I applied to Brown this fall and am fretting over a slight transgression I made in the “Why Brown” essay. I mentioned the “New Curriculum” rather than the “Open Curriculum.”
How major an error do u think this is?
Thanks! I’m really worried because Brown is my first school and I don’t know why I said “New” instead of “Open” T_T…

Shouldn’t be too bad! Brown did adopt a"New Curriculum" in 1969 and the aspects of the “Open curriculum” you talked about probably apply xD

Should I make a side-note of the error in my online application account? There’s a space to provide additional info updates and such.

No, no reason to bother. It’s not a big deal.

The Open Curriculum is the renamed version of the New Curriculum. The name change reflects the fact that the New Curriculum isn’t really new anymore. “Open Curriculum” also is more descriptive than “New Curriculum”.

While you might lose points for the inaccuracy, it’s also interesting that you’re familiar with the original name. It seems as though you’ve either researched the history of the school or you’ve spoken with someone who went there years ago.

To say you are making a mountain out of a molehill is an understatement. This is so not a big deal.

Sorry, and thanks for the reassurance @fireandrain.
